INTECON, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst (KP RGOT) to support AFWERX’s IT initiatives and business process improvements. This role involves gathering requirements, analyzing workflows, identifying areas for optimization, and supporting IT project execution. The selected candidate will work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure that IT initiatives are aligned with business objectives and mission priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Business Analyst (KP RGOT) will:

  • Gather and analyze business and IT requirements by engaging with stakeholders to identify and document operational needs.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to collect and document process flows, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze existing workflows, business processes, and IT systems, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency enhancements.
  • Recommend process automation, technology improvements, and digital transformation initiatives to streamline operations and IT capabilities.
  • Assist project managers in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects, ensuring that project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Develop project plans, track key milestones, manage risks, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Collect and analyze data trends and patterns, providing actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Support decision-making processes by presenting data-driven recommendations to AFWERX leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, assessing their potential value, feasibility, and alignment with AFWERX’s mission objectives.
  • Attend and/or participate in industry events, research forums, and pilot projects to stay informed on cutting-edge innovations that could enhance AFWERX’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring IT solutions are aligned with business goals, cybersecurity best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and DoD IT policies, security protocols, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on IT system functionality, workflow improvements, and data utilization strategies.
  • Travel as required to support stakeholder engagements, IT system reviews, and process assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring effective support for business and IT transformation efforts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred in Business Analytics, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or Digital Transformation.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, IT process improvement, or technology implementation, preferably within a government or defense environment.
  • Experience in business process mapping, workflow analysis, and IT system optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics, business intelligence (BI), and dashboard reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio).
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall).
  • Experience with automation tools, AI-driven analytics, and process improvement frameworks.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable IT solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration across departments and teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications and Training

Preferred certifications:

  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma (preferred but not required)

Proficiency in:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive)
  • Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio
  • Business process modeling tools (Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN)
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms

Specialized Training in:

  • Business Process Optimization & Digital Transformation
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
  • Agile & Scrum Frameworks for IT Project Management

Security Clearance

Active Secret Clearance required, with the ability to obtain Top Secret (TS/SCI) if needed.
